Tim Stafford Surfboards

Mostly bonzer inspired creations, made in Cornwall. Designed, shaped, glassed, sanded, finned and finished by Tim Stafford.

I make boards that are easy to ride, that feel natural under foot. Most aren't conventional but they will help you reach that point where you stop thinking about what's under your feet and start to focus on where you want to go and how you want to get there. Why bonzers?

Always happy to chat about your needs and what would work for you but please initiate contact by email or Facebook... details on www.timstaffordsurfboards.com | Ride and glide.

  1. Hey Tim,

This looks like an amazing board. I would love to build one similar out of wood. Can you help me with some of the bottom contours, I have never seen a bonzer in the flesh, but the bottom contours make a lot of sense in terms of drive and speed through turns... Could you send me to direct me to some designs of these bottom contours, please?

    Cheers

  2. The bottom contours are essentially concave channels that influence the flow of the water. Personally mine are curved but some people do them straight. There isnt really a resource where you can see how these profiles are at different stages but if you look through the shaping pictures of this board it will give you a good idea. Cheers
